Chaperone policy

This organisation is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times and the safety and comfort of everyone is of paramount importance.

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they or the practice feel one is required. A trained member of staff will act as a chaperone. You may choose to have a friend or a family member present in addition to this.

When booking an appointment it would be helpful if you are able to ask for a chaperone to be present. Sometimes it is not easy to know in advance what you may need and the need for a chaperone may only become apparent during a consultation, on rare occasions should a trained chaperone not be available at the time we may ask you to rebook your appointment.
